Dallas Video Studio Reports $20,000 Camera Equipment Theft

A downtown video production studio says it has lost approximately $20,000 worth of camera equipment after a man broke into its offices over the weekend and removed multiple pieces of gear used for ongoing projects.

The break-in occurred Saturday evening at TH Media Studios, located in an office building on North Ervay Street. According to the company, the suspect entered the building at about 5:49 p.m. and forced open the studio’s glass door before searching through the workspace.

Surveillance footage released by the business shows the man carrying a shopping bag and moving through the rooms with little hesitation. The cameras also recorded an unusual moment in which the suspect placed a bag of mussels inside the company’s freezer before continuing to gather equipment.

Tommy Habeeb, CEO of TH Media Studios, said security is normally present in the building but the lobby was unstaffed at the time.
“He walked in like he knew exactly where he was going,” Habeeb said. “And then in the middle of robbing us, he stops to put mussels in the freezer. It was surreal watching the footage.”

In addition to cameras and production gear, Habeeb reported that the suspect stole his personal varsity jacket from a charity event known as the “Pupathon.” He added that the studio’s insurance policy will not cover the loss.

Habeeb and his sons have printed WANTED posters offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the recovery of the equipment. The posters include details on how to contact the company. Habeeb said several individuals have reported seeing someone matching the suspect’s description near the West End DART station, allegedly attempting to sell cameras while wearing the distinctive jacket.

“Two days later, people are telling us he was out there selling our equipment,” Habeeb said. “We’re hopeful someone will come forward.”

Production at TH Media Studios — including its national animal-rescue program “To the Rescue” — has been interrupted while replacement gear is sourced.

The Dallas Police Department confirmed Wednesday that it has opened a burglary investigation and is reviewing video evidence.
“An unknown suspect entered a business without permission and took property from inside,” the department said in a statement. The case is being documented under report number 169060-2025.

No arrests have been announced.
