You hit the nail on the head. From someone who learnt to photograph in film, editing was only a tool to slightly enhance a vision not completely falcify reality. Photography is still art, what do we want to say and make you feel in this image. Photographs aren't a collection of instagram images all slapped with the same preset, anyone can do that.. for me no two images could have the same filter, its as unique as painting. love that you help us not only use but constructively consider tools to use in our photograph. An image may have had so much editing but still be subtle and naturally enhanced looking. that's the key.
7:24 Would it be possible to turn back the discovery of America? That would help a lot 🤣
what app you use for editing?
Thanks. Thoughtful and well edited. And a remarkable demonstration of Mask usage. That’s said you are a bright, experienced, good natured Pro. So please consider using a more thoughtful, less tired verb than “sucked” in your title? P.s. The gondola photo is simply stunning.
Man, I love this guy…
Read “Camera Lucida – Reflections on Photography” by Roland Barthes, translated by Richard Howard, and you will understand the studium and the punctum… without Lightroom presets…
wow
You was just the person I needed now! I find this video very helpful and inspiring to my self-improvement as a photographer. Thanks, you're great! Much love from Toruń – Poland ❤
It's Ironic when people who sell "PRESETS" to say it will hinder your growth as a photographer 🤣
omg I love the subbbbtle
Comment on Tip #1: ever since day one, I did not want to use presets. I could download some just for inspiration, but NEVER used any for my own work. I was also warning others from falling into the trap. No photo is the same, and using presets will never guarantee a good result. Without knowing the «sliders» and basic editing, you would not have the know-how to correct the errors in the presets. Also; I wanted my photos to be «captured by me — edited by me» and not some random dude making presets
your style of talking is easy to listen to! my first video of yours watched, now i am a subscriber. Great Video!!!
100% work thanx
OMG too much talking
I'm learning photography and need a good photo editing app. Please recommend some apps for beginners.
Fully agree with you on that. That's the main issue I have with these presets. It re I have, ally depends on the kind of environment, particular lights and so forth that we have and then I like creating a preset based on the environment I am with so it can be applied to the photos related to it that I have.
This was much better than I expected ❤ I am gonna try applying these tips to edit my pics in darktable or ART! Thanks!
lot of talk, no so much to learn
What’s the name of the program that you use? I want to start learning
Nice one bro…
While I didn't fall into the "sliders all the way as final", I was Defintely heavy handed with them.
nice
OMG! Just get to the tutorial already! Stop talking!
There are often times when I form a visual idea in my mind first before I go out to shoot based on what I’ve imagined.
Even before taking a photo, I already have a sense of how I want to shoot it and what I can do in post-processing.
When I edit, I usually adjust the image according to the vibe I felt and experienced in person, rather than strictly relying on what the camera captured.
1. Master the basic settings – Exposure, contrast, color, etc. 2. Don't over-edit – Take a break and judge with a fresh pair of eyes. 3. Define your intent first – Subject, emphasis, mood. 4. Guide the viewer's eyes – Crop tool, darken & brightest masks, etc. 5. Understand the photo's actual light and don't edit against it.
